black printed crewneck

Today I heavily relaxed in my new Glamour Kills crewneck since it was rainy and cold and all I wanted to be was warm and comfortable :3. The scene depicted upon this sweatshirt is beautiful and I love that I can wear it with literally just leggings and Converse and feel nice about my outfit, even though it is pretty casual. I have definitely been dressing down lately, as it's getting colder.

I got my snapback from the Werk Out Music Festival that I went to in Thornville, Ohio this past weekend; it's made by Grassroots in California, and the purchase of it supports "fighting climate change on behalf of the winter sports community", which is always an extra bonus. I found that out when I looked up their site when I got back.

On a side note, last night I am proud to say I fully discovered the functionality and capabilities of Pinterest. I had seen it from afar before many times and even used it for a few minutes when I first made an account and simply assumed that it was just another wannabe explosively popular Polyvore type site but Pinterest is truly beautiful. I love organizing ESPECIALLY the things I want and looking at them and labeling them and sorting them and that's exactly what I can do with Pinterest in addition to having one place that stores all my Internet discoveries. I get really specific with it so I already have 374 pins and over 30 different inspiration boards so it can get a little hectic-but check out whats in my brain! lol.

glamour, kills + LIKE ROMWE ON FB TO WIN DRESSES!

I also redid my self attempted purple ombre ^.^!

The look I've been trying to achieve for two months now... (I had to bleach my hair five times and tone it so much so that purple shades stayed in my hair instead of just toning it more, as toner is essentially weak very light purple dye with perhaps some developer.)

Please comment if you'd like me to do a tutorial-I mixed two different toned purple dyes to achieve this shade and this isn't actually what I want it to look like. Lilac, my preferred shade is hard to accomplish because during that process dilution of darker dyes with usually a lot of conditioner is necessary and that takes forever to set into your hair. So I am just waiting for this to fade. I'm no cosmetology expert, these words are just from experience.

still fly

So I went to Marshall's which I haven't been to in a long long time and throughout the time that I haven't spent shopping at Marshall's I've been looking for the perfect black suede/leather bag with gold detailing everywhere... the Internet, shops, etc.. and finally found a bag perfect enough to buy HOWEVER I simply cannot spend that much right now. Even though at Marshall's it was half off.

This is a little photo I found on the web even with using all the information from the label I photographed-it is a much cooler bag however.

FOR LOUNGEWEAR I scored some really comfortable AE yoga leggings. I couldn't find non flared yoga pants anywhere else besides AE or Victoria's Secret and these were cheapest, at only $19.99 :).

I also got some brand new Converse which is always a good feeling-I feel the exact same way as I did when I got my first pair of bright green ones in the sixth grade!

frayed shorts

I just got my new shorts from Romwe and they're awesome (buy here)! Their quality is outstandingly superb-soft and it feels like time spent making them was put into them. I paired them with my thrift-found American Eagle tank which I love for its slouchy casual feel and looks just as nice flowing on top of leggings. (~the true color of these shorts is in between my photograph and Romwe's photograph btw~)

My tastes lately in inspiration and purchases have varied quite differently from even a few months ago. I went to quite a few cultural shops these past few days in the search of a backpack. In addition to finding this one, I also got some nice handmade little bags for organization and a fairy post card-if you remember my epiphany from my last few posts that will make sense to you :). Anyhow,
I originally wanted a tribal print backpack that could be easily found at Forever 21 or Urban Outfitters, however I really couldn't take a liking to the very simple and similar geometric patterns that didn't really vary on one bag to the next. So instead I got a real hemp hand dyed backpack and I love it.

go ask alice

My name is Alissa but I was named after Alice in Wonderland-in Russian. The translation simply didn't go through exactly. Last weekend I had a random epiphany that Alice can be my style muse, with aspirations to also look like a fairy. I don't know where all of this fantastical inspiration came from but I'm really excited to start stocking up on some interesting, ethereal pieces! The book, Go Ask Alice, clearly isn't within the same category even as Alice in Wonderland, but coincidentally I read this book that weekend and evisioned the Alice, in that book, to have a similar style as the original Alice. This is said in no twisted way-what happened in Go Ask Alice was tragic but I thought that Alice was beautiful the whole time.

Anyway, I picked these shorts up at Urban Outfitters ($49) before this epiphany, and I just found them to match the persona of the magical person I am trying to emulate with my outfits perfectly! I also wore them to see Pretty Lights :). The bow was a random find and a fitting touch.

LB FINALLY launched an iPhone app. For a while I've been hoping for an app that allows you to upload looks from a mobile phone, however I didn't really want exactly that as it would deter from the overall quality and "masterpiece-y" feel of the site if it got polluted with mirror pictures etc. I just wanted to upload my camera files to LookBook from my phone because I usually edit photos at odd times that I dont particularly want to post at. Anyhow the app is not much more useful than the mobile site. It has a cute interface though!

This whole week and past two weekends have been quite interesting and magical. I acquired a lot of nice new goodies, and since I haven't posted in a minute I'll start off with an aggregate of my recent instagram photos. I know I'm super late with updating all this stuff....

Started wearing more hair pieces, such as this blue bow. Ever since I got my bow tattoo redone I have been spotting and buying bow themed items EVERYWHERE it's insane.

Lilac flower my friend got from the flower shop she works at. This is here to make sure everyone knows that its my absolute faaavorite color now... which is super strange I have never taken a liking to a particular color before and now I want it everywhere.
New socks.. I have acquired over 20 pairs within the past week ugh I definitely wish every time I put on socks for the rest of my life they could just be brand new

Random rubber bracelet I found that's perfect for making sure my laptop charger doesn't tangle. (lilac)

This is my new swimsuit from Romwe! :) It's of superior quality and has a low back which I did not photograph but I love it it's the perfect material to swim in but I imagine I will be wearing it as a bodysuit like I am in this look. It just sucks because its about to be winter and I'm sitting here in the beginning of September on the east coast stocking up on summer clothes :(
